About Us

The building dates from 1880 and has undergone various extensions and improvements over the years. In 2006, we acquired the complete third floor with a view to converting the space into a larger apartment to compliment Casa Capella 1.

Casa Capella 2 was completely designed by Teresa Rovira. Teresa and her team are known and appreciated by all of our clients to date, having created the special ambience of Casa Capella 1.

Carlota Calvet, Interior Designer, contributed to the creation of a comfortable, exclusive environment.

Architect's report

The apartment is located in a building located in Barcelona’s Eixample district whose façade has been recently renovated. It occupies the entire floor, exceptional for the type of apartment found in the Eixample, being nearly square in format and measuring 10m by 14m.

Ventilated by three balcony windows looking onto Aragon street on one side and two double windows and a terrace gallery giving onto a bright, wide patio with abundant vegetation on the other, It enjoys excellent through ventilation.

The apartment combines the comfort of an aparthotel and the singularity of a family home with a spacious living area opening onto a quiet interior patio via a terrace gallery. This receives direct sunlight throughout the day.
The overall ceiling height has permitted the placement of a kitchen in the form of a large cube adjacent to the dining area. In leaving free space between the cube roof and the ceiling, guests can appreciate the original proportions of the space. The kitchen opens on one side into the living / dining area via a lateral sliding wooden door – on the other side a glass and wood shelving design transforms the cube into an unusual room sized lamp when the kitchen is occupied.

The gallery terrace has a completely foldable double glazing system allowing the conversion of gallery to terrace and vice versa. The original floor mosaic has been conserved in the renovation.

The rest of the apartment is structured in three suites. One of these opens onto the living dining area, the other two onto a common studio / den area via large sliding, lockable glass doors, both spaces joined via a wide passage permitting a clear visual line from the front to the back of the apartment.
Two of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with a third complimentary bathroom opening onto the passage.

The bathrooms are completely fitted and incorporate large cascade showers. Each has a distinct visual aspect, emphasising their singularity. The bathroom in suite 2 has light tiling, contrasting with a dark wood finish. In suite 1, the bathroom is tiled in dark ceramic, complimenting the brushed aluminium finish of basins, taps and furnishing. The third bathroom offers a contrast between grey walls and the red tiling of the shower, producing a visual impact that offsets the more neutral tones in the rest of the apartment.

The original glasswork doors closing off the reception area from the studio and living / dining room areas have been maintained, allowing in ample light from both sides to the reception area. These doors harmonise with the rest of the wooden panelled wall covering and the integrated furniture. Both this woodwork and the flooring are of light oak, enhancing and maintaining the bright, warm character of the apartment.

To achieve the maximum level of acoustic comfort, the original windows have all been replaced with double glazing for maximum insulation.Teresa Rovira
